Inside, the Wolf...
Inside, the Wolf… is a production by Aifric Ní Chaoimh and Daniel Jeremiah Persson with musician Gemma Dunleavy. This piece takes the form of a mythic story written by the artists. The audience meets character Elba who is going through a rite of passage, during which, she has to face her wild instincts and her inner. Throughout this journey of self-discovery, the reflection, embodied as Dakash helps her understand her nature, to go beyond her limits and emotions and eventually unravelling her inner strength. The music and presence of the musician accompany the audience and provide a rhythm for this strange and moving encounter; a mix of humanity and primitive instincts.
The work deals with questions regarding women and the "male gaze", highlighting feminist liberation and female empowerment.
